Why is my download speed slower than Internet package?

Internet connection

Why is my download speed slower than Internet package? – Are you getting 128KB/s speed when you have 1 Mbps Internet package or 256KB/s speed when you have 2 Mbps Internet package?

That’s not because of bad Internet connection! That’s because of “Mb” and not the “MB”. “MB” stands for “MegaBytes” while “Mb” stands for “Megabits”, and doing the old math here, 1 B (1 byte) = 8 b’s (8 bits).

So, you will get the download speeds according to these calculations:

>512 Kbps Internet will provide you 64 KB’s of speed.

>1 Mbps (1024 Kbps) Internet will provide you 128 KB’s of speed.

>2 Mbps (2048 Kbps) Internet will provide you 256 KB’s of speed.

>10 Mbps Internet will provide you 1.25 MB’s of speed.

>50 Mbps Internet will provide you 6.25 MB’s of speed.

I hope this article would’ve corrected your confusions regarding your Internet speed.
